CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after a man was robbed at gunpoint and shot Saturday afternoon near a luxury apartment complex in uptown.
According to police, the man was was robbed at gunpoint and then shot while walking to his apartment just before 1:30 p.m. on East Stonewall Street near South Boulevard.
He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. His identity has not been released.
“The young man seemed to be pretty alert, luckily. He sort of sat up on the stretcher and then they whisked him away,” neighbor Amy Klett said.
No arrests have been made.
