CHARLOTTE — The driver in a car who ran a red light and caused a crash last weekend in west Charlotte died from his injuries a few days after the crash, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department on Monday.
CMPD says the crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 14 at Billy Graham Parkway, near Scott Futrell Drive. Police reported that Joseph Rogers, 79, was going north on Billy Graham Parkway when he didn’t stop for a red light and ended up hitting another car.
Both of the drivers were taken to the hospital after the crash. On Wednesday, Rogers died from his injuries, according to CMPD.
The other driver’s condition current condition isn’t known, but police said he had serious injuries following the crash.
Police said the investigation into the crash is still active.
