Missing 73-year-old man from south Charlotte found deceased, no foul play suspected, CMPD says

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say a man reported missing earlier this week was found dead Wednesday near McAlpine Creek.

CMPD gave the update Thursday, saying the person who was discovered at McAlpine Creek was 73-year-old William Brewer Bobbitt.

Bobbitt had been reported missing from south Charlotte. CMPD said there are no signs of foul play, but Bobbitt’s cause of death “is yet to be determined.”

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives are asking for help to find a missing 73-year-old man.

William Brewer Bobbitt is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds.

He has black and grey hair and brown eyes.

Bobbitt was last seen on Summit Walk Drive off Providence Road in south Charlotte.

He was possibly wearing a grey cap and bright red high tops.
