CMPD: Missing 15-year-old found and reunited with family

CHARLOTTE — Serenity Strickland has been found and is now back with her family, according to a release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police in Charlotte are asking for help to find a 15-year-old girl who was last seen Wednesday afternoon in the east side of town.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department sent out an alert on Friday asking people to be on the lookout for Serenity Angel Strickland. CMPD says Strickland is “known to frequent Uptown Charlotte and recreational parks in the Charlotte area.”

According to CMPD, Strickland was last seen wearing a pink dress, dark blue jeans, and pink sneakers.

Police said Strickland is “known to approach strangers and make decisions that may be harmful to her overall safety and well-being,” but the department didn’t say if officers believe she’s with somebody.
