Police: No charges filed after man found shot to death in south Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they are not charging anyone after a man was fatally shot in south Charlotte in July.

Officers responded around 7:30 p.m. on July 25 to the scene on Deep Rock Circle near Kings Creek Circle.

Authorities said they found a man who had been shot, and he was taken to the hospital, where he died. Police later identified the victim as 29-year-old Eric Howell.

Police said after investigating, they are not going to charge anyone in this case.
