CHARLOTTE — A 31-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with a deadly shooting inside a southwest Charlotte motel room on Sunday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

Police said they responded to a call about a person being shot at the Quality Inn on Wallingford Street just before 8:30 p.m.

At the scene, police said they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital where he later died, investigators said.

Terrance Derrell Lee was arrested and charged with murder in the homicide of Ishmeal Bash.

Lee was arrested in Las Vegas with the help of the FBI in Las Vegas.

“There were a lot of people milling around outside one of the rooms here at the Quality Inn,” said CMPD Major Brad Koch the night of the shooting. “Several individuals went inside one of the rooms, a short time later, several people came out and that’s when we found the victim shot inside the room.”

Police have not said what led up to the shooting.

Officers asked anyone with information about the shooting to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide detective.
