CMPD says case of man stabbed to death in southeast Charlotte is a ‘justified homicide’

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after a man was found dead in southeast Charlotte on July 12.

Officers responded to the scene on Doris Avenue near Richland Drive at 10 p.m. When they arrived, officers found a man who had been stabbed.

MEDIC confirmed that Calvin Hilton, 69, died at the scene.

Police said on July 29 the case is classified as a “justified homicide.” No other details have been released.
