CMPD investigating homicide in south Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide in south Charlotte Friday morning.

It occurred just after 10 a.m. on the 300 block of Archdale Drive.

At the scene, police found a victim dead from gunshot wounds.

Channel 9 Skyzoom captured officers taking pictures and collecting evidence from the scene.

Witnesses said that two women were arguing before one shot the other.

However, police have not confirmed if it was a woman who was killed in this shooting. They did, however, describe the incident as a tragedy.

“Every one of these situations is a tragedy. Whenever an incident is resolved with a firearm, tragedy ensues. That’s what happened here today,” said Major Ryan Kendall.

CMPD said the investigation into this shooting is active and ongoing.
