CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a homicide after they said a man was shot to death Thursday night in South End.
Officers responded around 10 p.m. to the scene on South Caldwell Street near Templeton Avenue.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. He was identified as 46-year-old Keith Griffin.
Detectives arrested and charged 51-year-old Christopher Boulware with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Since the crime happened near an apartment complex, police said they were offering help to anyone who may have heard or seen what happened.
“We have a crisis assistance we work with and various other resources available,” officers said. “That’s something the members of our homicide unit will coordinate with the representatives that manage the apartment location.”
