Officials said 18-year-old Donquavis Johnson has been charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The shooting happened just after 11:30 p.m. on Griffith Street, off South Tryon Street near Remount Road.

Officers said they were called to the apartment complex for an assault with a deadly weapon. When they got to the area, they found 19-year-old Antwon Risher with a gunshot wound in the parking lot.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
