CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have charged a man after they say he stabbed a woman to death Saturday night in east Charlotte.
Tylek Hamilton, 20, is accused of stabbing and killing Audeja Sutton,19, just after 9:30 p.m. on Bending Branch Road and Denbur Drive.

Officers said when they got to the scene they found Sutton on the side of the road with several stab wounds. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died.
It's unclear whether Hamilton and Sutton knew each other. Channel 9 is asking investigators for details about a motive.
The fatal stabbing marks Charlotte's 48th homicide of 2019.
