CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police arrested and charged a second man on Tuesday, weeks after the shooting death of 28-year-old Deante Brown.
Officers were called to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center-Main around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 after Brown showed up with a gunshot wound. He died a short time later.

Dante Gaskin, 27, was arrested and charged on Sept. 15 in the shooting death of Brown.
Gaskin was captured by CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team with help from the FBI. He was charged with murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle in operation and possession of a firearm by a felon.
More than a month later, police said they arrested a second suspect. Jairus Gaskin, 30, was named as a second suspect throughout the investigation and was taken into custody by CMPD’s VCAT.
Gaskin has also been charged with murder.
