CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman was charged with murder after CMPD said she fatally stabbed Deon Cortez Thompson, 27, Monday morning in University City.
Officers were called around 8:30 a.m. to a mobile home on Faires Road, off Plaza Road Extension, where they found Thompson suffering from apparent trauma, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shakeli Laquell Lewis, 30 was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the neighborhood and could see the entire home and yard roped off with crime scene tape and officers collecting evidence.
