CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A popular NoDa restaurant was burglarized for the third time in a year early Monday morning, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report.
Someone stole $1,000 worth of property from Cabo Fish Taco sometime between 12:46 a.m. and 12:58 a.m., investigators said.
The thief stole cash, company credit cards, two iPads, two bottles of liquor and a safe box, as well as causing $550 in damage during the break-in.
Police said the restaurant is one of at least five businesses on North Davidson Street that has been targeted by criminals.
Officers have responded to break-in calls in the last year at Crepe Cellar, Whisky Wineroom, Jack Beagles and the Company Store -- and for the third time in less than a year, Cabo Fish Taco has been burglarized.
Police are still trying to track down whoever broke into the restaurant and took cash, credit cards and $1,000 worth of property.

In June, a suspect kicked through the glass door at Cabo Fish Taco and took the register. Since that happened, businesses along North Davidson Street have been hit all within walking distance of each other -- four of them targeted in the same week.
Police are trying to figure out if they're connected.
Residents told Channel 9 that they worry about the string of crimes impacting their favorite NoDa restaurants and bars.
“You want to enjoy yourself and have a good meal and you don't think you're gonna have crime,” said Amy Pouncy.
The manager at Cabo Fish Taco did not want to comment or release video on the most recent break-in.
