CMPD investigating after woman seriously hurt in shooting near uptown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a woman was seriously hurt in a shooting just outside of uptown near south Charlotte Friday.

One lane of South Boulevard is blocked while officers are on the scene.

Police said there was a dispute at a hotel on Arrowood Road. The people involved left the hotel in two separate cars. Three people were traveling in one car in Interstate 77 when another car pulled up beside them and shot into the vehicle.

A woman was struck and they pulled onto south Boulevard and called 911. MEDIC took the woman to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made at this point.
