CHARLOTTE — A man reportedly broke into an apartment along Canterwood Drive in the Hidden Valley community Sunday and attacked a teenage girl.
The girl was able to fight him off and ran away, police said.
Officers said they responded to the apartment complex, but couldn’t find the suspect.

The man was reportedly wearing a black hat, a black jacket and a gold necklace. He also had a mustache, police said.
Detectives said the crime is similar to two other sexual assault cases reported in 2019 in the same complex. Those victims were 16-years-old and 39-years-old.
“It’s scary,” resident Kaliah Amin said. “To be honest, it’s scary. I’m a single mother with two boys.”
In the largely Hispanic community, one woman thinks the culprit could be taking advantage of a climate of fear because of ICE raids.
She said those raids may discourage some immigrants from talking to authorities.
