CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte police are investigating after they said four people with guns robbed a party.

The incident occurred at the Heather Ridge Apartment Complex off of Dahlia Drive early Saturday morning.

Eyewitness News obtained firsthand information from the victim who knows one of the robbers.

Clinton Albright lives at the apartment and said he and his friends were having a birthday get together that night when a friend knocked at the door.

He said they would have never let him in if they knew what was about to happen.

Albright said the four men came in armed with guns and started pistol whipping everyone in the party.

He said they took anything they could get their hands on – phones, purses, laptops and even shoes.

He said that when some people tried to escape out of the back door, the robbers started shooting at them.

On Tuesday night, Albright said he is left with one question: "I was mad. I was like, why? Why are you all robbing us? What do we have that you want to take? I mean we do not really have anything," said Albright.

Eyewitness News talked to some rattled neighbors on Tuesday who said they are not used to this kind of violence in their neighborhood.

So Eyewitness News mapped the crime in that area.

Eyewitness News found there have been seven reported incidents in the last six months.

Those incidents include an armed robbery in April, four assaults and two burglaries in January.
