CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman has been arrested after a man was found shot to death inside a north Charlotte apartment Sunday morning, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
Authorities said 29-year-old Heather Nicole Ricci was charged with murder as a result of interviews and evidence gathered at the scene.

CMPD responded to the Somerset Apartments on Tara Lane in Hidden Valley just after 6:30 a.m. for a domestic violence call.

When they entered the apartment, officers said they found a man, identified as Luis Ramirez-Flores, who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to CMPD, two people were inside the apartment when officers arrived.
Detectives determined Ricci and Ramirez-Flores knew each other.
Initially, officers said they believed the shooting was the result of a domestic violence situation.

Police said the case began as a death investigation but will move forward as a homicide investigation.
Ricci is scheduled to appear in front of a judge on Tuesday.
