Police identify man stabbed to death during fight in uptown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was stabbed to death during an apparent fight Monday night in uptown, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Detectives said Marcus Bradley and Mark Jamison got into a fight around 7 p.m. on North Smith Street, near Graham Street. Police found Jamison, 58, a few minutes later on West 10th Street.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bradley, 62, has been charged with murder and carrying a concealed weapon, which was a knife.

Investigators have not said what led to the fight.

The slaying marks Charlotte's 79th murder of 2019, and second in 48 hours.

A man who was shot in north Charlotte early Sunday morning also died.

Police said someone shot Labrecton Love around 2:30 a.m. near several bars and restaurants on Hamilton Street.

On Monday, police said Love died of his injuries.

Police have not identified a suspect or a motive in that shooting.
