Homicide detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and the crime scene was processed. After consulting with the county’s medical examiner’s office, police ruled the death a homicide.

Authorities identified the victim as 62-year-old Donna Baume Weatherford.

On the same day, detectives took Alphonso Bernard Davis, 58, into custody at a hospital on unrelated charges. After learning additional information, police charged Davis with murder once he was released from the hospital Tuesday.
