CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were conducting a homicide investigation Sunday in the 5600 block of Prescott Court in the University City area.
Officers said they located a man that had died from apparent "trauma to the body."

Officials identified the man as 32-year-old David McLendon, Jr.
The initial investigation indicated that the murder was not a random act of violence.
The investigation is ongoing.
