Officers said the most recent robbery occurred Thursday night, when a 63-year-old woman was robbed outside her apartment. Police were able to arrest the suspects the same night after a brief pursuit in East Charlotte.

According to CMPD, the key to making those arrests was identifying the car involved in most, if not all of those robberies.

The 10-day robbery spree started when a woman was robbed outside a check cashing store Nov. 7, and spread from there to similar robberies all around the city.

Sgt Brian Scharf with CMPD's robbery unit said all the robberies targeted individuals and occurred in the evening hours.

"Once we got some surveillance video of a vehicle they were driving, and then our crime analysis unit found that this vehicle they were driving was a stolen vehicle. In reviewing some surveillance video from that, we realized it was the same group of people who actually stole the vehicle and then used it to go out and rob," said Scharf.

Scharf also said in two of the robberies, the suspects fired shots and no one was hurt.
