CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating an armed robbery near the Epicentre in uptown.

The suspect then pointed a firearm at the victim before leaving the scene. Officials said the victim chose not to call 911 at that time.
Authorities said around 2:30 a.m., the victim realized the suspect had the victim's keys and he was not able to leave the area. The suspect then returned to the area where the victim was and shot at the victim.
"The victim approached him, demanding his property back, especially his keys. The suspect then produced a handgun and fired what we believe three to four rounds at the victim," Major Gerald Smith said.
Officials said no one was injured, but the suspect fled on foot into a nearby parking deck.
When the suspect came out on the other side of the parking deck, an officer noticed the suspect had a head injury and tried to help him.
Officers were able to piece together he was the suspect and arrested him.
They later identified the suspect as Reginald Pettus.
