CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control celebrated National Responsible Pet Owner Month with their monthly adoption event at SouthPark mall on Saturday.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents were invited to SouthPark Mall to meet dozens of adoptable dogs of all sizes and ages, and hopefully take home a new friend.

Animal Care and Control’s Community Outreach Coordinator, David Shrewsbury, said he was proud of how well they did during this month’s adoption event and that they’re continuing to find these dogs their forever homes.

“We’ve done really well, we got some really great dogs, we’ve had quite a bit of adoptions today, and ultimately that’s our final goal, is getting those dogs adopted into their forever homes,” said Shrewsbury.

If you would like to adopt a pet you can visit the shelter just off I-485 and West Boulevard, which is open seven days a week. Learn more, here.
