CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers arrested four people Monday accused of stealing more than 40 items from cars across Charlotte.
Reporter Gina Esposito was at the CMPD police station as victims picked up their recovered property and spoke to the man who called 911 to report a break in.
Antionio James said he was in his living room early Monday morning when he saw a light pop on outside his home in the 8500 block of Pinstripe Lane.
"I put up a spot light, a motion detector, and I noticed it came on," he said. "I went up to the front door and I noitced my wife's car light was on. I saw some flashlights and I was like, 'Wow, there are people walking.'"
He called 911 after he saw a couple of people break into his wife’s car and walk around with flash lights on his street.
James said police showed up at the right time.
“Someone got out of the car and started walking around, and she got to this car here, and I came outside, and the officer came up at the same time, so they were able to stop those two,” James said.

Officials said one person was carrying a gun.
