CHARLOTTE — Police are looking for a suspect after a man was killed and two other people were hurt in a shooting early Sunday morning.
Just after 2 a.m., officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department went to Seigle Avenue off Central Avenue in the city’s Belmont neighborhood. The area is right outside Section bar and grill.
According to CMPD, 26-year-old Damario Arkel Moore died at the scene. A second person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and a third had minor injuries.

Witnesses said the suspect ran away.
A Channel 9 crew could still see police tape around part of the street five hours after the shooting.
Matthew Carnevale, a resident, called the incident concerning due to the number of children around the neighborhood.
“You got families all over, there are kids playing in the streets and stuff like that, it’s just concerning,” Carnevale said. “And I know it was late at night, but you just never know why you have to come outside and you don’t want bullets flying by.”
Channel 9′s Hannah Goetz spoke to someone in the next neighborhood over who said he just isn’t surprised by what happened.

“We were just like shaking my head,” Tyrone Wilson said. “It’s unfortunate it happened, but it wasn’t surprising for us.”
He said his friends had told him about problems in the area. Wilson hasn’t had any himself, but told Goetz he worries for his girlfriend’s safety.
“I’m always up and I want to make sure she gets back,” Wilson said. “Text me when you park, let me know where you are, I’ll come out and walk you.”
CMPD asked anyone with information to reach out to Det. Barnett at 704-432-TIPS. You can also call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 704-334-1600 or by clicking here.
