CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Douglas International Airport has been among the nation’s hardest hit by flight delays so far this summer, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal based on data from FlightAware.
The analysis looked at the 100 busiest airports in the world — most of which had more than 20% of their flights delayed between June 1 and July 24. Airports are ranked by the share of completed departures that arrived at their destinations more than 15 minutes late.
In the U.S., Chicago Midway International Airport had the most delays at 38.3%, with cancellations at 1.3%.
CLT, where 29.7% of flights were delayed and 3.4% canceled, landed fifth among U.S. airports.
