The attorney representing Scott’s family, Chuck Monnett, said the city declined to offer any settlement and now the family plans to sue.

An independent shooting review board determined the officer who shot and killed Scott was justified in the shooting.
Channel 9 looked back at the city’s most recent settlements involving CMPD.
The city agreed to pay $9.5 million in December to Tim Bridges after he spent 25 years in prison for a rape he didn't commit.
In 2015, the city paid Jonathan Ferrell's family $2.2 million. Ferrell, who was unarmed, was shot and killed by former officer Randall "Wes" Kerrick.
