CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Speed limits in neighborhoods across Charlotte will drop from 35 to 25 mph.
City council approved the measure Monday night.

The plans would also make it easier for neighborhoods to request four-way stop signs and speed bumps.
Before, entire neighborhoods had to sign petitions to get speed bumps.

That made it tough in communities with a lot of rental homes, so the new policy requires a signature from one homeowner.
