GASTONIA, N.C. — An 18-month-old boy was found safe Thursday morning after an Amber Alert was issued in Gaston County.

Police issued the alert for Gage Conley just before midnight Wednesday after they responded to the 900 block of View Heights Drive in Gastonia and the child’s mother reported that someone had stolen her Chevy Suburban with her son inside.

Detectives said they found the child unharmed around 5 a.m. Thursday with 41-year-old Theodore Lipscomb in York County.

Police said they are still looking for the stolen Suburban with South Carolina tag NMB 520. It was last seen towing a boat, authorities said.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Det. J.P. Brienza at 704-866-3320, or Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000.
