CHERRYVILLE, N.C. — One graduate at Cherryville High School went above and beyond to ensure he got the best education from preschool to 12th grade.
Seventeen-year-old Gage Vernon has never missed a day of school.

Gaston County Schools says Vernon is one of two students in the district graduating with 13 years of perfect attendance.
“I love the environment. I love the kids, the teachers,” Vernon said. “The teachers were awesome at Cherryville.”

According to Gaston County Schools, the other student to graduate with perfect attendance is Karley Albanese of Forestview High School.
