CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — Investigators said they’ve charged the owner of a day care in the Cheraw area with simple assault of a toddler.
Officials said Bloynde Michael, 38, was arrested in the case.
Deputies said they were dispatched to McLeod Health Cheraw emergency room in reference to an assault.
The toddler’s grandmother told authorities Michael sent her a text saying the child had fallen on a dollhouse, which caused a scratch on his face.

The grandmother said she also noticed other injuries in a picture Michael sent her of the child.
When the grandmother asked about the injuries, she said she did not receive a response from Michael.
Deputies said the child’s mother picked the toddler up from daycare and noticed his right arm had bruising and there were injuries to his left hand.
The child was taken to the hospital, where deputies said additional bruising was discovered on the child’s buttocks.
Michael was booked into the Chesterfield County Detention Center.
