CHARLOTTE — Acclaimed restaurant Haymaker is ready for its next chapter.
Chef William Dissen has sold the upscale, farm-to-table restaurant after more than five years. It’s now under the ownership of chef Chris Coleman and Built on Hospitality, which is also behind The Goodyear House in NoDa and Olde Town Kitchen & Cocktails in Rock Hill.
Coleman — a winner on Food Network’s “Chopped,” “Beat Bobby Flay” and “Alex vs. America” — co-founded that hospitality group with industry veterans Sean Potter and A.J. Klenk in 2020.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Haymaker is in Ascent Uptown, a 33-story, mixed-use development at Third and Poplar streets near Truist Field.
“We are growing pretty rapidly and have plans to do a few more things over the next couple of years. This is a great jumping-off point for us,” Coleman says.
