CHARLOTTE, NC — Jimmy Kilgo, who was Charlotte's answer to Dick Clark in the 1960s, has passed away at the age of 87.
He hosted "Kilgo's Kanteen", a music performance show similar to Clark's "American Bandstand," but with a more southern flavor.
The program was recorded at WSOC-TV from 1957-1970 and aired on television stations across the southeast.
