CHARLOTTE — Dilworth’s Comet Grill will soon be under new management.
Owner Tommy Noblett confirmed to the Charlotte Business Journal the neighborhood bar and grill has been privately listed for sale. One of his longtime employees is set to take ownership, with the deal slated to close by early December.
“I wanted to make sure the potential buyers had the same vision of keeping Comet Grill as is,” he says. “It truly has been like my second child. I wouldn’t want to see something come in there and destroy the legacy.”
The 1,300-square-foot restaurant is located at 2224 Park Road. It has been a fixture at Dilworth Crossing Shopping Center since 1996.
“There’s just something about Comet Grill you cannot replace,” Noblett says.
Meanwhile, he’s preparing for a new chapter in life.
