CHARLOTTE — Computer, engineering and management jobs have surged in several metros around the nation, and Charlotte is no exception.
That’s according to a recent report released by Brookings Institution which found highly digital careers now account for more than 25% of all American jobs and pay an average of $122,000 a year, roughly twice the national average. Within that segment are high-paying — and highly coveted — computer, engineering and management (CEM) jobs.

In the Charlotte metro area, CEM jobs have increased nearly 79% from 2010 to 2023, and now command an average annual wage of $126,025 — compared to $63,935 for all jobs.
