Charlotte restaurant in top 10 on Yelp’s ‘Top Burgers in America’

CHARLOTTE — You can find one of the best burgers in the country here in the Queen City, according to Yelp’s new list of the Top 100 Burgers in America.

Yelp ranked the best burger spots across the United States ahead of National Burger Day on May 28, and there are actually two spots in North Carolina that are in the top 10. The site based the rankings on reviews by Yelp users.

According to Yelp, Charlotte’s best burger spot is Cowfish in the SouthPark area, which landed at number six on the top 100 list. Cowfish combines a menu of sushi and burgers, which makes it popular with Yelp reviewers -- and if you can’t decide between one or the other, you can have both with a “Burgushi.”

We can already hear the arguments starting, and everyone might have their own opinion on what constitutes a “best burger.” Just last year, Reader’s Digest said that the best burger in North Carolina was actually at Brooks’ Sandwich House, in Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood.

Right behind Cowfish on Yelp’s Top 100 Burgers list was a Durham joint, Sister Liu’s Kitchen, at number seven. Similarly, the Yelp list praised its fusion concept of burgers and Chinese cuisine.

So who has the best burger in the country, according to Yelp? That honor goes to Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q for its chopped brisket burger.
