Charlotte motorcyclist killed in Lancaster County crash, troopers say

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — A Charlotte motorcyclist was killed in a crash that happened on a Lancaster County highway Thursday, investigators said.

Troopers said it happened at 4:15 p.m. that day on U.S. 521 near S.C. 160, 7 miles north of Van Wyck.

According to authorities, a 2022 Mitsubishi SUV stopped in southbound traffic on U.S. 521. That was when a 2004 Honda motorcycle hit the back of the SUV. The motorcycle’s driver, 53-year-old Robert Srnovrsnik, was taken to Atrium Main in Charlotte were he later died.

The driver of the SUV was not hurt, troopers said.

The South Carolina highway patrol is investigating the crash.
