A hearing was held Thursday on hundreds of code violations that inspectors found, including exposed wiring and unsanitary conditions that included bedbugs and insects throughout the building.
The owner was given 60 days to demolish the building.
Officials said the property will be rezoned and redeveloped after the demolition.
The inn had been home to struggling Charlotte families but after years of complaints, the owner told everyone to vacate in September. That notice came after inspectors found a massive list of problems.
