CHARLOTTE — A 26-year-old Charlotte man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and transfer of a machinegun, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Dena J. King.

Shakor Daniels was arrested on January 16, 2024, after attempting to sell a firearm to an undercover ATF agent. The arrest followed a series of undercover operations where ATF agents purchased illegal Glock switches and firearms from Daniels, who was advertising these items on social media.

“Go fed or go home,” was the tagline Daniels used on his social media account to advertise Glock switches, which are illegal conversion devices that turn semi-automatic pistols into fully automatic firearms.

Daniels admitted to possessing a firearm for protection when law enforcement found two firearms in his vehicle during a traffic stop on June 13, 2023. Daniels, who has prior criminal convictions, is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Daniels remains in federal custody and will be transferred to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The case was investigated by the ATF and Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Charlotte.
