CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte is among the top 25 places in the United States for both setting down roots as well as for spending one’s retirement years, according to new rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report.

The Charlotte metro saw big jumps in both sets of rankings from last year.

It moves to No. 6 on U.S. News' “Best Places to Live,” list, up 14 spots from No. 20 in 2019, largely due to its scores in desirability and housing affordability. For the “Best Places to Retire” ranking, Charlotte lands at No. 23, up nine spots from No. 32 last year.
