Charlotte introduces Tim Albin as next head football coach

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte introduced their new head football coach on Monday to a packed crowd following a weeks-long search.

Tim Albin laid out his vision for the the 49ers after being named the program’s fourth head coach. Albin is fresh off a confernce championship with Ohio University in the Mid-American Confernce, beating Miami Univetsity (OH), 38-3. He takes over a 49er team that went 5-7 last season and fired head coach Biff Poggi with just two games left in the season.

Athletic director Mike Hill hessiated to put a timeline on a tunraround for the 49ers but Alibin knows the key to a fast rebuild is jumping into recurtuing, which also means gathering supoort from boosters to create NIL money.

“It’s going to be a work in progress. I don’t have any magic fairy dust i shook as many hands as i could in there gave out my number and we’ve got to get a package put together that we can go out and be in the market its what it is,” Albin said. “It’s capitalism at its finest.”
