CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday confirmed the addition of DraftKings as a team sponsor after going more than a year without a fantasy sports and gaming partner.
Previously, the NBA franchise had an alliance with DraftKings rival FanDuel, estimated to be worth $300,000 to $500,000 annually. FanDuel became a Hornets sponsor in 2015.
DraftKings will advertise inside Spectrum Center during games with courtside electronic messages and have its logo featured on the basket stanchions. For now, the main value for the company will be the use of Hornets logos and having the DraftKings name seen on the basket and near the court during regional game telecasts on Fox Sports Southeast.
