CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An NBA player joining the Charlotte Hornets roster this season is setting down roots here with the purchase of an uptown condo — about a mile away from the Spectrum Center.

An entity tied to the Hornets’ new center, Mason Plumlee, paid $2.25 million for a penthouse unit at the Settlers Place building, according to Mecklenburg County real estate records.
The full-floor condo has a contemporary design and includes a private elevator. The 3,750-square-foot unit houses three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms.
