Charlotte has one area that’s an exception to housing inventory struggle

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The inventory crunch in Charlotte’s housing market continues to be felt, but one area in particular is experiencing an uptick when it comes to the number of homes for sale.

Uptown Charlotte posted a 12.3% year-over-year increase in inventory as of April 5, seeing its number of available homes rise to 91 from 81, according to the latest statistics on the housing market from the Canopy Realtor Association. That left uptown with a three-month supply of homes on the market, primarily condos, in March, compared to 2.1 months a year ago.

Canopy data indicates the number of homes for sale in uptown began rising last summer, after several months of year-over-year declines.
