A new Hindu temple is set to open in Charlotte by March 2016.
Construction on the 10,000-square-foot Trimurti Temple Devasthanam began June 6.
The 17.5-acre site will be built in the traditional South Indian architectural style.
It will house imported, hand-carved statues of Hindu deities carved from black stone.
The temple will also include a greenhouse, a pond and a hall, as well as a sanctuary.
The grand opening is scheduled for March 15, 2016.
