CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A flight from Charlotte had to be diverted after leaving the Queen City's airport.

American Eagle Flight 4672 left Charlotte Douglas International Airport a little before 11 p.m. Saturday and was heading to New Orleans.
The airline told Channel 9 that the plane dropped from 38,000 feet to 10,000 feet in 10 minutes.
An American Airlines spokesperson told Channel 9 the flight diverted to Montgomery, Alabama, for maintenance.
Officials said the flight touched down in Alabama just after midnight Eastern time.
A new flight is scheduled to take passengers to New Orleans at 8 a.m. Central time.
American Airlines gave all passengers on board hotel accommodations.
