Firefighter hurt battling intentionally set fire at southeast Charlotte house

CHARLOTTE — A vacant house fire in southeast Charlotte was set intentionally Thursday morning and a firefighter had minor injuries while battling the blaze, Charlotte Fire officials announced.

Firefighters responded to the fully involved fire around 5:45 a.m. at the abandoned building on Paul Buck Boulevard off East Independence Boulevard behind the Bojangles Entertainment Complex.

The estimated cost of damage was $100,000, CFD said.
