CHARLOTTE — Charlotte FC beat Houston Dynamo, 2-1, in an away game at the PNC Stadium in Texas on Sunday.

This win helps keep their playoff hopes alive.

Charlotte FC had lost consecutive matches for the first time since losing their first three games of the season, with losses against C. F. Montreal and Austin.

The team has collected just two points on the road this season, tying the team for the fewest points in an expansion team’s first nine road games since Chivas USA and Real Salt Lake in 2005.

Charlotte FC has scored six goals on the road this season, not scoring more than one in any match.

Six different players have scored those six goals.

The Houston Dynamo previously lost seven of their last 10 matches and don’t have a great record against expansion sides, winning only two of their last 16 matches against MLS newcomers dating back to October of 2012.

Houston has lost six of its last eight matches against expansion sides.
