CHARLOTTE — The budding rivalry between Charlotte FC and Atlanta United is set for its Queen City debut on Sunday afternoon.
Charlotte FC, 2-0-4, will take on Interstate 85 foe Atlanta United, 3-1-1, at 1:30 p.m. from Bank of America Stadium.
In the clubs’ first faceoff last month, Atlanta United scored a goal in stoppage time to push them past Charlotte FC, 2-1.
The match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium was not without highlights for Charlotte FC. Adam Armour netted the first goal in club history in the game’s 66th minute.
Charlotte FC has played improved soccer since its loss to Atlanta, including winning two of its last three games and outscoring opponents five goals to three.

Fans without tickets can watch Sunday’s match at 1:30 p.m. on Channel 9.
